What SoulGen offers now

SoulGen's current homepage emphasises AI video from images or text, alongside reference-image character generation, editing and outpainting. Older descriptions that present it only as a character-image generator do not capture that current positioning.

Our assessment is that it belongs on a shortlist for creative image and short-video experimentation. We have not tested identity consistency, lip-sync quality or generation speed, so none of those should be treated as independently established strengths.

Features to distinguish

Reference-image generation, editing an existing picture and animating a picture solve different problems. A model that makes an appealing still image may not preserve the same subject through movement. Before paying, identify whether your final output is a single illustration, a revised photograph or a video sequence.

The vendor describes adding or removing image content and extending an image beyond its original boundary. For either workflow, inspect the join between original and generated areas. Check small details at full export size, not only the preview shown inside the editor.

Credits, subscription and refunds

We could not establish a stable public checkout price from the homepage, so no fixed entry price is promised here. Check included credits, the cost of each output type, renewal frequency and whether unused credits carry over in the actual purchase flow.

The return policy places restrictions on used credits and used premium purchases, and describes a 14-day request window. Read the current wording before starting a paid generation: testing a purchase can affect refund eligibility. Do not assume that cancelling a subscription automatically reverses previous charges.

Use your own images or images you are authorised to process. A reference-photo feature is not permission to impersonate a person or create non-consensual content. The site's commercial-use statements are conditional on third-party rights and applicable rules; they are not a blanket clearance for every image or character you upload.

For a business project, document the inputs and rights you hold. Keep a human review step before publication, especially if a generated clip could be mistaken for a real person's actions.

Verdict and alternatives

Try the smallest representative workflow first and judge the downloaded output. Reface is a more direct comparison for face-oriented edits; Rosebud addresses interactive game creation rather than standalone video. Choose around the deliverable and rights you need, not an unsupported star rating.
